Denise, I always smile when I recieve a post from you. Thank you for sharing your daily practice. I cannot say I have ever written out books of the Bible, howver, I love that it is a thing you do and I may follow your lead.
That is so interesting that you took upon writing verse by verse in the book of Psalms.
Handwritten notes and letters have been a lost art, sadly, but I still continue to hand write because it is a way of connecting others, and I think people appreciate (get tickled) in receiving one. 😊
In fact, quote by Brenna Jordan in the Lost Art of Handwriting:
“Handwriting gives the brain more time to process information, and stimulates neurological connections that aid in memory focus and composition. The process of handwriting can also have a soothing, calming effect and can even serve as a great form of meditation.”
Thanks for sharing your way of studying Scripture by writing out the Word and the idea of the Bible study journal you use.
Beautiful. I am going through psalms. Poor Bishop Hooper is helping and Dane Ortlund’s book. My Bible study group is studying psalms. Poor Bishop Hooper’s psalms project is just so helpful.
I love that you're doing that. My weekly Thursday morning community Bible study is also going through the Psalms. It's been great going through the Psalms with a group of women.
i have now ordered your book...a physical one to hold in my hands....and also to share....i, too, have loved and relied on the Psalms for many years but am just now beginning to be more regular about writing them - you are inspiring me to become more diligent in that.
I’m encouraged and inspired by this practice! When our children were younger, we had them write out the book of Proverbs, just a few verses at a time in a notebook. Our oldest son said he wrote out the entire book 5 times in those homeschooling years and still remembers so many verses. I don’t know why I didn’t think of doing something similar to myself! I think I will start with the book of Psalms, following your example. 🙂

Blessings to you.
I haven't read that book, but it sounds great! I just added it to my Amazon cart. Thanks for the recommendation! :-)
Thank you for this wonderful reminder of a practice any of us can do. I need to get back to it!
It's always lovely to connect with you here, Kate. :-)

Lisa, I love that! I haven't written out the Book of Proverbs yet, but I will at some point! Thank you for sharing! :-)
I just love this simple but powerful expression of being in prayer/writing the Bible- thank you for this wonderful gift
Love you, friend! :-)
A beautiful, soul-forming practice. May we all take it up!
Thanks, Shannon! You always inspire me!
I love all your Word Writers books! I wish there were more, but I got into the habit of writing out verses because of those books!
Ann, that is so great! :-)
