I am similar to you as well. I lived in Florida almost all my life before moving to Minnesota, and I got tired of the beach so I enjoy the beautiful lakes in MN (land of 10,000 Lakes, especially Lake Superior which is the most beautiful lake we have seen).
We get beautiful sunrise/sunset here which is a spectacular work of God, and we (my husband too) thank Him for it.

There is science behind our love of beach. Negative ions in the air are concentrated there. That air has a positive affect on one's well-being. Waterfalls are another place to enjoy negative ion rich air.
The best part of living near the beach takes place in the morning. I shall never tire of viewin God's light show as the sun peaks out over the ocean and lights up the day.
This is such a good message of wanting to be in a place of peace -I love reading from the book of Revelation (and the sea shall be no more ) a new heaven and new earth —can’t wait
