Enjoyed your piece of article. Joy is a hard one to consider when going through tough circumstances, but you made an interesting point which I had to ponder for bit when you mentioned that “you believe joy is something we can cultivate in our lives with intention, no matter what is happening around us”. I need to be reminded of the fruits of the spirit and I lack PATIENCE; I am still a work in progress…

I try to focus on the good around me through nature, my surroundings/activities for the day, and etc. (Gratefulness).

Hope you are doing well. Thank you for sharing this.

Blessings!

Thanks Denise, I enjoyed this article. Greetings from a hot and stormy summer in Australia. I could relate, I think I am a pretty serious person too and joy is a challenging concept at times. I agreed with where you said genuine peace is found in His presence. Oh yes. He is everything peaceful and as peace doesn't come easily to me I am SO grateful for that.

Thank you for the newsletter. I think picking a word from the fruit of the spirit is a great way to grow. And thank you for the quote from Thomas Allbaugh. Blessings

“This is why I’m not looking for joy the way the world looks for it. I’m thinking joy is mostly found in quiet, unassuming ways. And perhaps in ways that surprise us.”

What beautiful words that made my heart sing!
