Happy Anniversary! I love how you celebrate! Last August we celebrated our 45th anniversary by playing disc golf on a rugged course in Makoshika State Park in Montana (check it out - we did keep an eye out for rattlers, but thankfully saw none). I lasted for 9 holes, Mike did all 18. That was a first for us on an anniversary and a first on that course. We have hiked in other locations near us or simply dined out for celebrations.
Happy anniversary! That’s the sort of thing I also want to emulate. As I enter deeper into the second half of life, I recognize I still have a long way to go. In so many ways. 🤍
Happy anniversary! What a beautiful setting. I, too had a similar encounter while dating a guy that didn't know very well. Except for me, when we heard the rattle, he took off running and left me to save myself. That was pretty revealing. God had other plans. :) Thank you for what you shared!
What a first date you had! A hike sounds perfect ( I'm convinced that sitting at a table for two in a restaurant with full on eye contact, trying to eat, look elegant and talk eloquently on a first date is not the best idea! ).
I look up to anyone in the church of my grandparents generation, they are often the warmest, kindest and most hospitable members of my church. Although I realise this is not a given. A consistent willingness to be hospitable to family, friends or strangers were traits my own grandparents had that I would love to emulate in my own life. I have a long way to go with this unfortunately.
Before we all swoon over the oldies in our churches we should remember that they are as flawed as we are as we approach oldie status. Every generation has their strength and weakness. But saying that I worship with our oldies as I rediscovered my church roots and grew to resent the spectator service with its modern music. I love the liturgy, tradition and old hymns. The oldies do understand about community in a way that we boomers do not.
Happy Anniversary to you and Jeff!! What an inspiring story Denise! I used to hike trails in the foothills of Colorado, as well as trips to the heart of the Rockies. I can relate to the sensory surroundings of a hike, adrenaline and endorphins recharging.
What a great way to celebrate another anniversary!
Happy Anniversary and best wishes!
Thank you, Carol. :-)

Jamie, I am with you. I, too, still have a long way to go! :-)

Oh my gosh, Syrone! I'm glad you found out early that that guy was not a keeper!
Yes. I reconnected with my husband who was my high school sweetheart shortly after that experience. I'm glad that you are surrounded by such beauty!
Congratulations on your anniversary 💐❤️

I love that you look to your grandparents and their generation as examples of warm hospitality. That is wonderful.
Congratulations. A great achievement.
