I’ve never been to Canada, but, my mom, aunt, sisters & I have a trip planned in a few years to see Prince Edward Island. We’re Anne of Green Gables fans💚
We started the empty nest years this time last year, although we had our younger son home for the summer, so it feels like we're starting again. My tip would be to make the most of being able to do things spontaneously - take those opportunities, invitations and "do you feel like..." moments. It almost feels like dating again. 😊
We’re a bit further down the path, and I remember thinking the “empty nest” was a misnomer for those years when the kids left for college…it’s in fact the “revolving door” years :), as they come back (albeit for shorter times) to work for a summer, or save money after college as they decide on next steps, etc. I love your intentionality for this new season, as it is such a significant transition not just for the two of you but for your kids as well. We’ve now reached the “empty nest” as all ours are fully moved out and settled in their own places…another new season, with continued intentionality!
Books, of course. New books with attractive covers that beg to be read or perused placed near comfortable chairs. Or even older books, especially if they focus on a topic of your family's interest (sports, a hobby, history, nature, etc.).
Beautiful pics!
